Appia Inc. recently announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Appia Technologies, Inc., has successfully closed its previously announced acquisition of Phoenix Corporate Holdings, Inc. (“PCH”) and its portfolio of owned and operated companies.
The acquisition brings together two of the leading companies in the global telecom industry, creating an expanded platform that further strengthens Appia’s position as the preeminent provider of mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) services and voice-related technologies.
As a part of the transaction, PCH has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Appia Inc. As a result of the transaction, Appia will control an extensive portfolio of companies, products and technologies, including a wide range of valuable customer relationships and products.
The addition of PCH to Appia’s product and service portfolio has resulted in the development of a one-stop shop for end-to-end communication solutions. It adds voice and VoIP technical capabilities to Appia’s existing suite of mobile, wireless, and internet-of-things (IoT) offerings. The acquisition will also help Appia to leverage additional market presence and customer relationships, and to expand its customer base across multiple market segments.
Through the acquisition, Appia also gains access to PCH’s portfolio of mobile-native technologies, which are designed to enable customers to connect with services such as messaging, voice and video faster and more securely. In addition, PCH’s extensive telecoms experience will help Appia to create greater efficiencies as customers move away from copper and cable networks to fibre and mobile networks.
In summarizing the acquisition, Don Kirke, Chairman and Founder of Appia Inc., stated: “We are extremely excited about the series of acquisitions that Appia has made in the past few years. They have enabled us to become a leader in the rapidly-growing mobile and wireless space, and given us greater control over our strategic direction. The PCH acquisition will allow us to gain access to the tremendous reservoir of mobile expertise and technology that PCH has developed. Together, these acquisitions create a more comprehensive service platform, one that will enable us to better serve our customers no matter where they are located in the world.”
The addition of PCH to Appia’s comprehensive portfolio of services represents a significant step towards the company’s vision of providing best-in-class communication solutions to businesses of all sizes, including international organizations. Going forward, Appia will continue to integrate the acquired technologies and services to create a more comprehensive offering that will meet the communications needs of their customers.
