The Toronto Stock Exchange Venture (TSXV) has seen a surge in activity as of late. The TSXV is home to many small-cap and mid-cap companies that offer investors an interesting range of potential opportunities. This week, it’s BCM Resources that is leading the way, having gained an impressive 40 percent in the past seven days.
BCM Resources is a Canadian gold exploration company. Last week, the company announced that drill results from the company’s wholly owned Firecrest-Fairview gold project in British Columbia have exceeded expectations. Gold intersections, including 107.7 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 1.5 meters, were observed from multiple drill holes. The company is now set to conduct further exploration of the area.
Coming in a close second this week is Dominion Mining, which is up 33 percent since share prices were announced last week. Dominion Mining produces copper from two mines in British Columbia. Last week, the company released their annual report, which detailed a new exploration project looking into further potential deposits at their flagship site.
Coming in third is Kashton Financial, a cryptocurrency mining company. Over the past seven days, the company has seen its value increase by 32 percent. The company operates two types of mines, one of which is used to mine Bitcoin. Last week they released a new product called the Kashton Kudo, which allows investors to diversify their cryptocurrency portfolios.
Fourth on the list is Georgian Capital Managers, a financial services firm that has surged in value by 21 percent over the past seven days. The company released their financial earnings report, which revealed strong results for the quarter ended December 30, 2020. They also provided an outlook for 2021, which included plans to expand their asset management capabilities.
Finally, the OceanaGold Corporation rounds out the list, having posted a 17 percent increase in share prices. OceanaGold is a gold exploration company with operations in New Zealand, Australia, and the Philippines. Last week, the company announced a new joint venture to explore mineral deposits in the Philippines.
BCM Resources is at the top of this week’s TSXV leaderboard, but the competition is fierce. Investors should monitor Dominion Mining, Kashton Financial, Georgian Capital Managers, and OceanGold Corporation closely for opportunities as the market continues to fluctuate.
