United Airlines Will Debut A New Boarding Order To Save Time
United Airlines is rolling out a new boarding order that they believe will make the whole process much more efficient. The new boarding order, which was designed with the help of passenger feedback, will help save time while ensuring that all customers have a comfortable journey.
United Airlines is making the switch from their current boarding system which allows passengers to board in whatever order they choose, to a new boarding method known as “segmented boarding”. Segmented boarding will allow passengers to board in groups based on their seating assignment. The squads are divided by those seated up front, in the middle, and at the back of the plane.
Passengers with disabilities, those traveling with small children, and customers who need extra time to board will begin boarding first, followed by first-class passengers. Segmented boarding will also be used when flights are full or busy.
United Airlines believes that this new boarding system will save them time and money. By having passengers board in pre-assigned groupings, boarding times have been reduced to a matter of minutes instead of the 15-20 minutes that customers experienced under the old boarding system.
The airline also claims that fewer late departures are likely to occur because customers will be ready to board at the same time. This will ensure that flights taking off on time is more likely. Not to mention passengers getting to their destinations faster.
United Airlines isn’t the first airline to introduce a new boarding procedure. Other airlines including Delta Air Lines, Spirit Airlines, and Norwegian Air have all implemented similar systems.
The new system was designed to eliminate long lines and make the boarding process easier for customers. With this new system, customers will board in the order of their seating assignment and the reason for their delay should no longer be an issue. It is yet to be seen if the new system will make a significant difference in boarding times, but it’s something that United Airlines is dedicated to implementing to ensure a better travel experience for customers.
